We asked the Hodder Sparkle & Shine team for the tips they actually use on the job, every day, in homes across Sylvan Lake, Red Deer, Blackfalds and Lacombe. Here's what they said.
1. Clean top to bottom (Alayna's tip)
Start high and work your way down. Dust the light fixtures, shelves and tops of cabinets first, then counters, then floors. Dust and crumbs fall as you go, so if you start at the bottom you end up cleaning the same spot twice.
2. Vacuum last (Gracie's tip)
Finish everything else in a room, then vacuum your way out. You get one final look at everything before the floors are done, and you're not walking over a freshly vacuumed floor.
3. Vinegar and baking soda (Jessica's tip)
Jessica swears by it, even for cat pee on carpets and furniture. Always spot test first on fabrics, in a hidden area, before you use it on anything you can see.
